The Time Walker Fundraiser

I know what you're thinking... oh no, another fundraiser. But, just hear me out, please. This one is different.

Have you heard of Kickstarter? It's a crowd sourcing website where creators put their projects on-line and people pledge small amounts of money. In return for their pledge, they get a reward. This is a huge new initiative and some projects have raised MILLIONS of dollars. All from people pledging small amounts. As they say, every dollar counts.

So, what am I telling you all this for? I'm having a fundraiser on a website similar to Kickstarter for my new novel, The Time Walker. You've all heard me talk about this new YA book over the past months and now I've moved past writing it and am now ready to really get into the production side. To do this, I need a little cash. That's where all of you come in.

I won't go into all the details here because it's clearly laid out on the website (link below) and I don't want to bore you with the same information twice. But, basically, you pledge a small amount of money (say $10 or $25... or more if you wish) and in return, you get a reward. It could be a personal tweet from me, a signed bookmark, an e-book, have your name in the book, a personal coaching session from me... there are several different rewards and the more you pledge, the bigger your reward. As well as your reward, you get to have some influence in the publishing world. You get to say, I'm interested in reading this book and I want to help to bring it to the printed page.

I myself have pledged to other projects and have gotten great satisfaction in knowing that, for example, there is a satellite in space that is there to give schools the opportunity to teach their students about astronomy at no cost. I did that. Me and thousands of other people, all pledging small amounts of money. Many hands make light work, or in this case, many wallets make dreams come true.

So, I'm asking if you can spare a small amount to donate. I would be eternally grateful. Please don't forget to select your reward so you get something back. But, if you can't spare the cash, I understand, it's tough at the moment and there are a lot of people struggling. I wouldn't want anyone to stretch themselves to thin. Financial donations aren't the only way to help this project. I also need promotion. Please, take a moment to put it on your Facebook wall, tweet it out to your followers. If you have friends or family, or even a business, who like to read YA or fantasy books and want the chance to help create a novel from the ground up, pass them the information.

Either way of helping, financial or promotional (or both if you're so inclined) makes a huge difference.

And if you do provide a monetary pledge, there is no fear of losing your money because if the target amount isn't reached, you don't have to pay. There are some pretty cool rewards on offer so please, take a moment to click the link and read the project details. If you have a few spare dollars to donate, THANK YOU, and if not, that's alright too. And please share, promote and encourage others to pledge.
