Camp NaNoWriMo

Yep, it's that time of year again. NaNoWriMo has invaded my life and is making me neglect all other responsibilities... and I LOVE it!!

Camp NaNo is a little different to standard NaNo though. In Standard NaNo (during November) you have to write 50,000 words in the 30 days. For Camp NaNo, you get to set your own word limit so you have a bit more flexibility.

I thought I'd go a bit easy on myself and set my word goal at 25,000. Well, we're only 15 days in and I've already passed 30,000!!! So, I'll remember in future that I can have higher word goals. I'm not stopping though. I'm going to see if I can keep up the momentum and see if I can hit the 50,000 word mark.

Wish me luck!!

In other news... I'm expecting an email this week. I've been told it will arrive by the end of the week and it will either contain the best news of my life, or I'll be very disappointed. Again, wish me luck! I'll give more details after the email has arrived. Please, send good vibes and keep your fingers crossed for me.

In non-writing related news (but still about books) - who is reading Cassie Clare's books? I've read them all before but three weeks ago Clockwork Princess, the third and final book in the Infernal Devices series, was released. I read this book in a day and then cried myself to sleep for the next week. Yes, it was THAT intense.

I then went back and read all Cassie's books in order and am halfway through Clockwork Princess again. I love her characters so much! - *cough* Team Jem *cough* - I'm extremely excited about the City of Bones movie coming out in August and I also just heard that Clockwork Angel has been picked up to be made into a movie as well. This is amazing news!

On top of all this awesomeness  Cassie has written a series of side novellas (10 in the series) and will be releasing one per month as we wait for the final book in the Mortal Instruments series. These books focus on one of the characters that I just adore - Magnus Bane. The Bane Chronicles' first instalment - What Really Happened in Peru - is released tomorrow. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

So yes, I'm currently reading like a mad woman (I've read 9 books in 3 weeks) and also writing like crazy. It's been a busy month for me!!

Also, I have a new post up on my writing tips blog if you're interested - http://hannahswritingtips.blogspot.com.au/2013/04/patience-is-virtue.html
