Excellent Combinations

Hi everyone!!!

I thought I'd do a quick little post today about things that go well together. I've noticed recently that putting two things you love together can make them even more amazing.

My first example of this is BOOKS, which I love, and CAKE, which I also love. I was scrolling through my timeline on Facebook and saw this picture come up a few times and I think it's fantastic!!

Now you can EAT your favorite titles. I think I am going to look into getting book cupcakes for my birthday in October. YUM!!

Another combination that I am loving at the moment is BOOKS (again, because they are awesome) and The Olympics. Every night this week I have curled up under a blanket (because it's winter in Australia) with The Games on and a good book. Currently I'm reading the Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead and I can't put it down. It's a fantastic combination because I can read my book but also glance up regularly to check how the teams are going. It's very enjoyable.

Speaking of the Olympics... I might have developed a crush on an athlete from a DIFFERENT country. The swimming is my favorite sport to watch (wet chested men anyone?) and I have of course be cheering for the GREEN and GOLD of Australia. I'm so dedicated that I've been setting my alarm for 4:30am every morning so I can watch the medal finals. But... while cheering on the Australians (James Magnussen, Leisel Jones, Stephanie Rice etc.) an American swimmer caught my attention and my heart. I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that I have also been cheering on Ryan Lochte. I don't feel *TOO* guilty about this as I am a dual American/Australian citizen and have every right to cheer for both countries. Congratulations to Lochte for winning Bronze and Silver last night. I was cheering him on at 5am (my time) from the snuggled comfort of my bed.

I'm curious what some other things go together to make something even more awesome. I'd love to hear some of your favorite combinations.

COME ON AUSSIES!!!! (And GO! Ryan Lochte!!)

H xx

  1. How about writing and wine? One of my all time favorite combos. ;)

What a fantastic way to enjoy the Olympics! It's so hard to imagine it being winter anywhere - another 90+ degree day in Chicago.

You MUST have those book cupcakes for your birthday - with YOUR books on 'em.

  2. Oh! Writing and wine is a good one. I'm not much of a wine drinker myself but for me it would be writing with a nice cup of tea!
