Sorry it's been a few weeks since I wrote to you all. I've been a bit unwell and was briefly in hospital, but I am back to work and feeling good now!! Having some down time and not being able to do much but sit in bed, I managed to dust off the laptop and get a good amount of writing done, which is great.
The Mind Walker is coming along very nicely and I've even started planning book 3 in the series. I'm not gonna reveal that title just yet. The planning is going well and my muse has been very kind with lots of ideas and perfect snippets of dialouge for my characters.
The reason that I'm writing today (apart from getting to catch up with you all) is because there is a really fun (and drool worthy) contest running at the moment that I thought you might all be interested in. My publisher, Omnific Publishing, has joined with Bookish Temptations to run the contest.
A lot of the Omnific authors, including ME, have given pictures of the men we imagine to be our main characters and they are posted on the website (link below). All you have to do is match the actor to the book (there are 5 you have to match) and you could win the ENTIRE Omnific catalogue of books. Yes, you read that right, you get every single book that Omnific has released and trust me there are some fantastic books in that line up. I'm trying to get through as many of them as possible myself because the quality is sublime.
So, go to this link - http://bookishtemptations.com/2012/05/17/men-of-omnific-match-game-giveaway-4/ and comment with your answers and you could be the lucky winner.
The actor from Pieces of Us is my version of OWEN. So, if you were involved in my Anniversary blog hop last month that should be easy for you!!
I've updated the word count of my current writing progress of The Mind Walker on the Walker Series tab to the right for anyone who is interested. I think you'll see that it's pregressing nicely. We're over half way to the finish line!!
I hope you are all well and happy and I'd love to know what you are currently reading. I'll admit that I reluctantly started reading the Fifty Shades of Grey series last week. I had heard mixed reviews for it but as an author, I was curious about what all the fuss was about. I read all three books in just over a week and I was surprised with my reaction to them.
My verdict - I actually loved them! I'll be brutally honest and say that I didn't think I would. I expected the writing to be bad and the story to be stereotypical but I was plesantly surprised. The writing wasn't perfect (but really, what book has absolutly perfect grammar and structure?) but the story was so engaging that I overlooked a lot of it's faults. I must admit that I did develop a bit of a literary crush on Christian Grey. It taught me an important lesson. From now on I will always read books for myself before judging it instead of listening to hype and drama.
Thanks for listening to me ramble on again and I'll speak to you all soon.
