Well, my novel has been on sale for a week now and it's so exciting to already be receiving messages from readers. If you are one of the wonderful people who has contacted me over twitter or facebook to give me your feedback on my book - THANK YOU!! I have loved reading every one of your comments and I'm so glad that you are all loving the book so much. It really makes the months of hard work getting it ready for publication worth it to see so many people enjoying it!
If you have read my book, or are reading it, please leave me a message and let me know your thoughts - I'd love to hear from you. I can be contacted on the CONTACT tab at the top of this page via twitter, facebook and email.
My ticket for the red carpet premiere of Water For Elephants arrived today - which is very exciting!!
In other news... I have lost my voice. That's right, it's completely gone. I open my mouth and no sound comes out. It's very frustrating. I went to work yesterday and had to carry a small whiteboard around with me to write messages to people. I can tell you that it is a huge challenge to participate in a staff meeting and have to write everything that you need to say.
This challenge has shown me that I take speaking for granted. As a writer I find using written language quite easy, but I hadn't realised how much I depend on the spoken word as well. At first I found using the whiteboard to be quite interesting - having to find the exact word to best describe what I wanted to say, rather that just babbling out a whole sentence to describe something, but by the end of the day I was frustrated and tired of writing everything.
I'm happy to report that it hasn't put me off writing though! *smile*
On my last blog post you may remember that I mentioned a contest where I would be giving away copies of my novel on Twitter, well, I've started giving copies away. 2 people have already won ebooks and I have 3 more to give away. So, to be in with a chance of winning all you have to do is follow me on twitter here -
On a personal note, I'm happy! My novel has been released and is being well received, I just got a new iPhone 4, I'm moving into a gorgeous new apartment in 2 weeks, I have a girls weekend away planned for Easter, my ticket for the red carpet premiere has arrived, I have wonderful friends and family who love and support me and I live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world - in short, life is good!!
