My publisher has give the official release date of my debut novel
April 5th 2011.
I can't begin to tell you how excited and nervous I am about this news. In fact, I have been sitting here, trying to put into words exactly how I feel... and I can't think of anything. Releasing a book is an overwhelming and humbling experience and I know that the following months are going to be a roller-coaster of highs and lows - hopefully more highs.
I'm sure that once this news sinks in a little I'll be back to write a much more eloquent post, but for now, we'll all have to make do with my ramblings. What I can tell you is that I am happy, beyond belief.
On a different topic, last night I finished reading The Hunger Games series, written by Suzanne Collins. I think my state of speechlessness on the release date of my novel comes from the shock I am still in over these books. Suzanne has created a world where children are forced to be warriors and where you never know who is going to die. There were several times through this series where I would put the book down in utter shock over another unbelievable twist in the plot. I really have respect for an author who is not afraid to make her readers grieve.
So Suzanne, wherever you are, I tip my hat to you for giving me three books and several days of pure entertainment, emotional highs and lows, and love, for a whole new group of characters that I now carry with me.
Until next time...
