My publisher sent me some drafts of the cover for my novel. An event which I had been eagerly anticipating. I don't think I can show you the covers here, but, I will tell you that the one I have chosen is beautiful and I'm sure you will all be very pleased. I'll be honest and say that it is not at all what I had originally envisioned the cover to be, but sometimes the unexpected is better!
Publication date is getting so close. I've been given a tentative release date which is in only 4 weeks!! As soon as this date has been confirmed and the cover has been finalized, I will post them here for you all to see... so stay tuned.
Now, onto some exciting local news - some of you may remember that a few blog posts ago I said that I had been reading a book called 'Water for Elephants' by Sara Gruen and I explained how much it had inspired me to become a better writer... well, the movie based on this book is being released in Australia in May and there will be an official premiere screening in Sydney. I am so unbelievably excited about this and I am exploring the possibility of maybe attending the event. Wish me luck.
I have been quite unwell this week and home in bed for days (not fun) so I have spent most of my time reading. A friend (Tania) recommended that I start reading The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins. I devoured the first and second books in a day and a half. I am now doing my best to resist reading the third and final book so that I can process the events I have already read, but my restraint is wavering and I fear I may end up in bed reading all day again today.
I love reading, always have, always will... but every second that I spend reading is a second that I can't be writing - my other passion - so it's a toss up for me as I enjoy both so much. The planning of my new fantasy series is coming along well, I'm actually really happy with the research I've been doing and feel like these books may just write themselves and just use my body as a conduit. I will keep posting updates as I have them.
Until next time...
